Why we do it

Welcome to the Cowlitz County Market Sale website! This site is to help promote our 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors and their market animal projects and answer questions about our market sale.

4-H and FFA programs are designed to raise the leaders of tomorrow. Valuable leadership skills, community service, communication and responsibility are taught through these programs. The Cowlitz County Market Sale helps to promote these and other life skills for our 4-H and FFA members.

Beginning in the Fall, FFA and 4-H members start the busy task of raising and preparing their animal exhibits for fair - rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, hogs, beef and turkeys. The Cowlitz County Market Sale is then traditionally held on the Friday evening of the Cowlitz County Fair. The profits received from the sale are usually reinvested in the exhibitor's next animal project or are used for future educational expenses.
